This 2002 Jaguar s-type engine swap is an American Make Over.

We purchased this car as a quick buy and flip. Unfortunately the car chose otherwise giving us more electrical and module issues than we expected. We believe in solutions, not problems. Our main objective here is like all car shows, will it run. At this point no. It won’t run, walk, or crawl. This Jaguar has to be carried to where it is trying to go. After looking around the garage there are enough spare parts accumulated to assembly something that will run. That is why this 2002 Jaguar s-type engine swap is an American Make Over.

Our Jaguar s-type engine swap is the smart thing to do.

There are more American parts laying around my garage than there are European. Probably should have thought of this before purchase, but I got a fantastic deal on this almost free. These parts laying around are the basic chevy parts that every American has shown to have. This is documentation of Project Muscle Cars attempt at the 2002 Jaguar s type engine swap with a chevy engine. These engines have been said to be able to go into anything. No need in the engine sitting in my garage, or a car sitting outside. Together they will meet and together they will run. How good becomes the question for us?

If you are new to Project Muscle Cars it is understood because we are fresh. This small block chevy engine swap into an foreign automobile is not anything that is new. And this may ruffle some feathers, but I promise you it was not directly intended. We take what we have and make use of it. Alright back to the build.

Jaguar s-type engine swap with a 700r4

The goal is to put a 305 SBC in it with a 700r4. How much horsepower and torque is to be determined because we may be able to put some real power to it. Currently as it sits it has the 4.0L V8 that is rated at 281 @ 6100 RPM. The torque sits at 287 lb-ft and it did 6.6 seconds in 0-60 leaving the factory. Our goals will be to beat that first. We believe a SBC with a cam upgrade should beat those results. The curb weight of the car is 3903 pounds but what I like about it is the ariel dynamics and wheel base of 114.5in. Stay tuned by joining the newsletter for updates to this post.
